Many Causes of Tension Headaches

Dr. Allan Horowitz, published newspaper article, Richmond Hill Liberal, Copyright 1985-1991

QUESTION: Maybe you could help me with this problem I have been having for several years now. Three doctors (my family doctor and two specialists at Sunnybrook Hospital) have told me I have “muscle contraction headaches.” Here is what happens when I get one of these headaches: I get a dull throbbing pain behind my eyes and in my forehead, my head feels like it is in a vice, and my neck feels very tight, almost as if I moved it, it would snap. When one of these headaches comes on it usually lasts just until I go to sleep and it is gone in the morning, although sometimes it does last a few days. I would like to know if there is anything that can be done for me, because up to now I have been taking fiorinol which I know is not the answer. Your help would be appreciated. Thank you for your time. Continue Reading
